COX Gallery Exhibitions
Branding the borrowed walls of a lobby space for local artists.
Four times a year, the COX Canberra Studio's lobby stops being just a way in and becomes a free gallery. With each install a new brand, built from whatever inhabits the space.
Each exhibitions identity is formed from itself, developed closely with the exhibition manager and the artist showing. No shared visual system gets forced across shows, but a subtle thread of the COX brand runs underneath every one of them, so the identities stay distinct while quietly belonging to the same family. That balance is the actual brief: honour the artist's work first, let COX show up as an undertone.
The initiative has been running for 12 years, fee-free the whole time. 13 of those individual exhibitions have been branded personally, out of the wider run.
